About St. Paul Lutheran Church Mission Endowment:
The endowment fund was initially established through the passing of Geneva Prinz. In her trust instrument she indicated the purposes were to add gifts from the St. Paul Lutheran Church Congregration and others to add to the endowment fund.
The endowment fund is in addition to encouraging gifts, provide outreach into the local community or synod activities to select church wide ministries of the ELCA and give gifts to these ministries to select extraordinary programs of their own choosing to donate to.
The original gift was given around July 26, 2015. It has been administered as a part of St. Paul Lutheran Church until separate articles of non-profit corporation were filed in the state of Iowa in order to separate the function of the endowment fund from other church budget and to better emphasize the fact that gifts can be given to individuals and organizations not necessarily connected with the Lutheran Church to serve charitable purposes as formulated by the board of this endowment fund.
About Geneva Prinz:
Geneva Roesler Prinz, a retired school teacher, was born on March 23, 1928 in Lime Springs, IA. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Geneva graduated from high school in Lime Springs, and went on to Wartburg College, Waverly, IA. She taught first and second grade for many years in the area.
The Lutheran Church played a big part in her life as she and Arthur Prinz were married at St. Paul and were faithful members the rest of their lives. When Geneva passed away on October 18, 2014, she left a very generous gift with which St. Paul could design a long term mission outreach plan. The Endowment Committee was formed to implement plans to share with Lime Springs and its surrounding neighbors the gracious gift that has been received.
This gift has benefitted and will continue to benefit people throughout the world. St. Paul is honored to celebrate Geneva's generosity in all the endowmnents that are given.
